6. Ability to analyze options for critical design elements and features and determines optimum selection.
7. Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing-driven design issues.
8. Ability to work under date-driven schedules.
9. Highly skilled in engineering analysis, development, documentation and communication also required.
10. Strong presentation skills.
11. Must be able to write and analyze requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and documentation.
Job Description : 1. Design, analysis, documentation and testing of extremely complex mechanical piece parts and assemblies. Analyze critical areas of the design with the appropriate analysis tools
2. Play a key role in ensuring the final design meets the marketing requirements, quality and cost goals, and achieves world-class standards of reliability, manufacturability, EMI containment, and serviceability
3. Conduct engineering tests to evaluate and verify the robustness and proper performance of new products Manage assigned development activities of external suppliers
4. Interface w/suppliers, electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, tooling engineering and other development groups to ensure the successful development and launch of new products.
5. Utilize best in class tools to develop innovate solutions to highly complex problems.
6. Provide inputs for the mechanical development budget and schedule. Play a key role in development of the prelim BOM, cost targets, development plan. Support other areas in their initial work on project planning documents.
7. Identify and mitigate potential schedule, budget, or quality risks
8. Escalate to project Leads and project Management any discrepancies well before they become critical. Offer alternatives to realign the Project with original goals.
9. Responsible for subset team member coordination and mentoring.
10. Provide inputs used to develop the product profile and ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
